Group Trustees

The Trustees are a small group of volunteers who have overall responsibility for the running of the 167th Scout Group. The Trustees are like a driving committee to represent the parents and get the best for their kids within the parameters of scouting. They look after the finances, membership records, policies and charitable activities. They are ultimately responsible for Health and Safety – though the section leaders take responsibility for risk assessing all activities.

The Trustees perform a similar function the the Governors. Setting Vision, Holding Responsibility, Being a Supportive Critical Friend (both positive and, if needed, constructive critique we hope) to the leaders who deliver scouting.

Every year we hold an Annual General Meeting where members of our board of trustees, are appointed elected or re-elected.

Group Lead Volunteer – David Jeanneret

After unofficially fulfilling this role since February 2022, David was appointed by the District Commissioner in January 2025.

The GSL supports all the volunteers, and particularly the Section Leaders, in the delivery of the scouting programmes that we provide.

David has been our Cubs Team Leader since 2017 and was involved in the group as a Section Assistant and Occasional Helper before that. Previous, even, to then – David was the youth worker at our sponsor – Westbury Baptist Church. At that time he would visit the youth work in the week and occasionally attend Scout Camp!

Chairperson – Sally Greenland

The chairperson works with the Group Scout Leader to manage the running of the group

Sally has two boys who are part of the 167th Group and absolutely love attending, so when a Chair was needed she offered to take on the role. As Chair she can help support this wonderful organisation and in particular this group in a small way.

Secretary – Alison David

The Secretary assists in providing amazing administrative support to the group, especially to the Trustees.

Alison is the mum of a scout who has progressed through our group.

Membership Secretary – Vacant

The Membership Secretary looks after our waiting lists and makes sure that joining and transitions between sections happen smoothly.
